Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music to the internet in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the internet, including her self release single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. Later that year her music was circulating all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then, on the 9th of November 2018, she released another two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 two new singles called No One and pedigree. They then teamed up in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. In February of 2019, her music video to the track was launched. It has had more than three million YouTube views within a week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
